This Privacy Policy describes how Savor ("Savor", "we", "us", or "our") handles personal information that we collect through our mobile application and other services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the "Service").

1. Personal Information We Collect

Information you provide to us

You may provide us with the following categories of personal information:

  • Account data: Information you provide to create a Savor account, including your name and email address. If you sign in with Apple, we receive the name and email address you choose to share.
  • City data: Your selected default city and any cities associated with your saved restaurants.
  • Restaurant data: Information about restaurants you save through the Service, including restaurant names, addresses, cuisine types, categories, and any tags you add.
  • Screenshot data: Screenshots you share with Savor through the iOS Shortcut for restaurant extraction. Screenshots are processed on-device and are never uploaded to our servers. Only extracted text (such as restaurant names and addresses) may be sent to our backend for processing.
  • Communications data: The contents of your communications with us, including any feedback you provide about the Service.

Automatic data collection

We and our service providers may automatically log information about you, your device, and your interaction with the Service, such as:

  • Device data: Your mobile device's operating system type and version, device type, unique identifiers, and general location information such as city or geographic area.
  • Usage data: Features you use, actions you take within the app, access times, and duration of use.
  • Location data: Your device's location if you grant us access to it through your device settings. Location is used to center the map on your current position and is not stored on our servers.

2. Why Do We Use Personal Information?

We use personal information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We may also process your information for other purposes with your consent.

For research and development. To analyze and improve our Services and to develop new features.

To comply with law. We may use your personal information where it is necessary or appropriate to comply with applicable laws, lawful requests, and other legal processes.

For compliance, fraud prevention, and safety. To protect and defend the rights, property, safety, or security of Savor, our users, or the public; to enforce the terms and conditions of our services; and to protect against fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized, unethical, or illegal activity.

3. How We Use Your Personal Information

Service delivery

To provide the Service and operate our business, including to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Services.
  • Process and extract restaurant information from screenshots you share, using on-device OCR and AI-assisted parsing.
  • Communicate with you about the Services via email, including to send you account verification codes, announcements, updates, and support and administrative messages.
  • Provide support for the Services, and respond to your requests, questions, and feedback.

Research and development

For research and development purposes, including to analyze and improve the Service and our business. As part of these activities, we may create aggregated, de-identified and/or anonymized data from personal information we collect. We make personal information into de-identified or anonymized data by removing information that makes the data personally identifiable to you.

Compliance and protection

To comply with applicable laws, lawful requests, and legal process, and to protect our, your or others' rights, privacy, safety, or property, including by enforcing the terms and conditions that govern the Service.

4. How We Share Your Personal Information

We may share your personal information with the following parties and as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy or at the time of collection.

Service providers. Third parties that provide services on our behalf or help us operate the Service or our business (such as hosting, information technology, customer support, email delivery, analytics). This includes our backend infrastructure provider and AI processing services used for restaurant data extraction.

Professional advisors. Professional advisors, such as lawyers, auditors, bankers, and insurers, where necessary in the course of the professional services that they render to us.

Business transferees. Parties (and their advisors) to business transactions involving a corporate divestiture, merger, consolidation, acquisition, reorganization, sale or other disposition of all or any portion of the business or assets of, or equity interests in, Savor or our affiliates (including in connection with a bankruptcy or similar proceedings).

Do we collect information from minors? We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent's use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. 5. Managing Your Account

If you would at any time like to review or change the information in your account or terminate your account, you can do so through the app's Profile screen or by contacting us. Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. However, we may retain some information in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our legal terms, and/or comply with applicable legal requirements.

6. Your Choices

Access or update your information. You may review and update your Savor account information within the app's Profile screen, including your name and default city.

Delete your account. You can delete your account directly from the app's Profile screen or by contacting us. Please note that if we delete your account, we will be unable to provide any services to you or recover your saved restaurant data.

Location access. You can control whether Savor has access to your device's location through your device's system settings. The app will continue to function without location access, but the map will not center on your current position.

Other sites and services. The Service may link to or integrate with websites and other online services operated by third parties, such as Apple Maps and Google Maps. These links and integrations are not an endorsement of, or representation that we are affiliated with, any third party. We do not control websites or other online services operated by third parties, and we are not responsible for their actions.

7. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this privacy notice.

8. Do California Residents Have Specific Privacy Rights?

Yes, if you are a resident of California, you are granted specific rights regarding access to your personal information. If you are under 18 years of age, reside in California, and have a registered account with Services, you have the right to request removal of unwanted data that you publicly post on the Services. To request removal of such data, please contact us using the contact information provided below, and include the email address associated with your account and a statement that you reside in California. We will make sure the data is not publicly displayed on the Services, but please be aware that the data may not be completely or comprehensively removed from all our systems (e.g., backups, etc.).

CCPA Privacy Notice

The California Code of Regulations defines a "resident" as: (1) every individual who is in the State of California for other than a temporary or transitory purpose; and (2) every individual who is domiciled in the State of California who is outside the State of California for a temporary or transitory purpose. All other individuals are defined as "non-residents." If this definition of "resident" applies to you, we must adhere to certain rights and obligations regarding your personal information.

How do we use and share your personal information?

Savor collects and shares your personal information to provide and improve the Service. You may contact us by email at hello@savor.app, or by referring to the contact details at the bottom of this document.

Will your information be shared with anyone else?

We may disclose your personal information with our service providers pursuant to a written contract between us and each service provider. We may use your personal information for our own business purposes, such as for undertaking internal research for technological development and demonstration. This is not considered to be "selling" of your personal information.

Savor has not sold any personal information to third parties for a business or commercial purpose in the preceding twelve (12) months.

Your rights with respect to your personal data

  • Right to request deletion: You can ask for the deletion of your personal information. If you ask us to delete your personal information, we will respect your request and delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions provided by law.
  • Right to be informed: Depending on the circumstances, you have a right to know whether we collect and use your personal information; the categories of personal information that we collect; the purposes for which the collected personal information is used; whether we sell your personal information to third parties; and the business or commercial purpose for collecting personal information.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you if you exercise your privacy rights.

9. How Can You Review, Update, or Delete the Data We Collect from You?

Based on the applicable laws of your country, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we collect from you, change that information, or delete it in some circumstances. 10. Security and Retention

We employ technical, organizational and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information we collect. However, security risk is inherent in all internet and information technologies, and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information. The length of time we retain particular categories of personal information is determined based on whether it is sufficient to fulfill the purposes for which we collected it, including to satisfy legal, regulatory, accounting, or reporting requirements, establish or defend legal claims, enforce our agreements, resolve disputes or fraud prevention. We may either delete or anonymize personal information we no longer require.

Screenshot privacy: Screenshots you share with Savor for restaurant extraction are processed entirely on-device using OCR. The screenshot image data is never uploaded to our servers. Only the extracted text content may be sent to our backend for AI-assisted parsing of restaurant details, and this text is not persisted on our servers beyond the character count logged for service quality purposes.

11. International Data Transfers

We are headquartered in the United States and may use service providers that operate in the United States and other countries. Your personal information may be transferred to the United States or other locations where privacy laws may not be as protective as those in your state, province, or country.

12. Children

The Service is not intended for use by anyone under 16 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian of a child from whom you believe we have collected personal information in a manner prohibited by law, please contact us. If we learn that we have collected personal information through the Service from a child without the consent of the child's parent or guardian as required by law, we will comply with applicable requirements to delete the information.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you by updating the date of this Privacy Policy and posting it on the Service or other appropriate means. Any modifications to this Privacy Policy will be effective upon our posting the modified version (or as otherwise indicated at the time of posting). In all cases, your use of the Service after the effective date of any modified Privacy Policy indicates your acknowledgment that the modified Privacy Policy applies to your interactions with the Service and our business.
